The Body Suite - introduction |
My name is Dee Bodle and I am the Founder and Director of The Body Suite. I am a Pilates teacher and have been running community classes in the local area since 2002.
When I left school I went to ‘The British Record Industry Trust School’ in Croydon, where I studied Performing Arts and A Level Dance. From there I decided to continue my dance training and went to The Brian Rogers Performers College in Essex. Whilst at the “Performers College” I discovered I had a Scoliosis (curvature of the spine). This made life at college very difficult, but I was still very determined to carry on with my studying. After leaving college I took an RSA in Exercise to Music, then gained further qualifications in Body Combat, Fit ball and then Pilates. This is where I discovered Pilates was the key to a healthy, strong and stress free body. After a short time of teaching Pilates I discovered that I had gained a personal relationship with the Pilates Method, improving both my posture and the condition of my Scoliosis. As the founder of The Body Suite I am here to give to you the first studio, exclusively dedicated to Pilates on the West Sussex South Coast. I am able to relate to clients who are looking for health benefits when regarding Pilates, as I have been there myself. I like to give people the tools to help themselves, and educate them about what their body is doing and why they have the problem. What I like is that Pilates can be for everybody at any level and it can completely turn your life around. Without Pilates I would still have restless nights, be incredibly stiff every morning and suffer from persistent back pain, shoulder pain and headaches. So here I am passing on my secret to a healthier and more pleasant lifestyle. Yes you too can feel stronger, improve your posture, be more agile, improve your flexibility and look to gain those flat tummy muscles you have always wanted, what ever your age and ability. Pilates is ideal for those with arthritis, asthma, postural problems, debilitating diseases such as Parkinson’s and M.E, back pain, knee pain, heart problems, stress related problems, general injuries, those who require post surgical rehabilitation and those who just want to have a fantastic workout. We also cater for clients who want to enhance their performance in sport, prepare themselves for childbirth or get back into shape after having a baby, as well as our bridal and rehabilitation programmes. As a member of The Body Suite you will be treated as an individual with respect and privacy. The Body Suite is a centre of excellence, giving expert treatment, education and advice to each client in accordance to the individuals wishes, needs and physical condition. Most people are familiar with Pilates as a Mat based group class, however Pilates can be done on a mat, a ball or on the Pilates Studio Equipment. The original technique was derived by Joseph Pilates on studio equipment such as the Reformer, Trapeze table and Combination chair. We run classes to cater for beginners, intermediate and advanced clients, more specialist classes for medical conditions, for example osteoporosis, are also available. Adaptations can be made for certain individuals if it is not possible to get in a certain position or perform a particular movement. Clients may also be advised to attend specific classes, private one to one sessions or our ‘Rehabilitation Clinic‘ for their own benefit. Clients can gain much from a Private one to one session, as the exercises are specifically tailored to their needs. The Body Suite is a non-competitive environment. All clients are encouraged to develop their own self awareness and work within their own limitations, doing their best on any given day. Not only will you be healthier from your weekly exercise programme but you will also feel guided and supported by your teachers. You will be constantly monitored by your teachers and we will be available for you to discuss your physical issues and any injuries and how to manage them with your weekly workout. This is essential for any rehabilitation process. |
